Ranveer Singh recalls the moment he realised Deepika Padukone was ‘the one’: We were like absolute fire together

When Koffee With Karan came back for another highly awaited season, people certainly expected Karan Johar’s show to spill some juicy secrets. In the very first episode of the show’s new season, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt graced Karan’s couch. The two will be seen sharing the screen in Karan’s upcoming directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.The charming duo’s episode certainly had its fair share of delightful moments, and Ranveer’s comments about his lady love Deepika Padukone was definitely one of them. The actor opened up about his first meeting with his wife and the moment he realised that she was ‘the one’ for him.

Ranveer and Deepika’s first onscreen collaboration came in 2013 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. Ranveer recalled his first reading with Deepika, which took place at Bhansali’s house. The actor recounted how excited he was to see Deepika and how absolutely smitten he was when he first saw her.

Ranveer seemed to turn nothing short of a poet when describing Deepika’s entry. Recalling her entry in an all white outfit, Ranveer said that it felt that ‘time had slowed down’ as Deepika walked in slow motion through the door. A breeze flew through her open hair and Ranveer described her as ‘an absolute vision in white’. “That was it. That moment was it for me!”, he said.

The actor also opened up about how he knew she was ‘the one’ early on in their relationship, after being together for almost six months. “Deepika and I were like absolute fire together. The sparks were flying almost instantaneously”, he said.

Ranveer and Deepika have worked together in films such as Bajirao Mastani(2015), Padmaavat (2018) and 83 (2021). The actress will also make a special appearance in Ranveer’s upcoming film Cirkus, directed by Rohit Shetty.
