Sushanth, who forayed into the web space with ZEE5’s rural comedy Maa Neella Tank, essays a crucial role in the much-anticipated action thriller Ravanasura, which releases on April 7. Ahead of the release, the cast, crew came together for a pre-release event in Hyderabad on Saturday. The ‘Current’ star spoke at length of his experience working on Ravanasura and sharing screen space with Ravi Teja.

“Ravi Teja asked me to shed my inhibitions for my role in Ravanasura; I’ll try to do that on stage as well today. I thank Abhishek Nama for the opportunity and I heard in an interview that you suggested my name for the part. When Srikanth told me the story, I liked it a lot. Ravi Teja cautioned me to not tell much about the plot, but you wouldn’t have seen him in such an avatar before,” he said.

“With my role, when I suggested Srikanth Vissa to look at the part differently, he was so quick to incorporate the changes and improvised it beyond my expectations. He discussed it with Sudheer and Ravi Teja. All that Ravi Teja said was to ‘do anything that’ll help the film’ and gave the team a freehand. He came back with the changes in an hour,” Sushanth added.

The actor said Sudheer Varma was one of the best technicians he has ever worked with. “Everyday, he surprised me with the execution of sequences and doubled/tripled its impact with the staging. Even I think he’s portrayed me in a unique role in Ravanasura. All the leading ladies, cinematographers and music directors did everything that was necessary for the film,” he stated.

Ravi Teja remains unaffected by the fate of his films and believes in working hard, accepting the result with an open mind and move onto another project later, Sushanth mentioned. “He asked me not to take frequent gaps between projects and keep marriage on the backburner for now. In our combination scenes, he was very sportive, made me feel comfortable and liberated me as a performer. More than acting, Ravanasura is a life experience I’ll cherish for a long time.”
