Netflix is celebrating one of the greatest storytellers of all time - Satyajit Ray with its upcoming anthology titled Ray. Today, the OTT giant has dropped a teaser video of Ray, which is scheduled to release on June 25.
Starting from the quote ‘100 years of Ray,’ the video revealed the first look of the cast as well as the titles of the four stories in the anthology. The first story is named ‘Forget Me Not’ featuring the Mirzapur star Ali Fazal. Following that, the second story titled ‘Bahurupiya’ stars Kay Kay Menon. Another one shows Manoj Bajpayee and Gajraj Rao shaking hands in a still of 'Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa,' while the last one is called ‘Spotlight’ featuring the Mirzya actor Harshvarrdhan Kapoor.
The official synopsis of Ray on the Netflix website reads, “From a satire to a psychological thriller, four short stories from celebrated auteur and writer Satyajit Ray are adapted for the screen in this series.”
The official Instagram page of Netflix shared the teaser video, captioning it as, “Great actors, amazing directors and unique stories from a legendary writer! BRB, pinching ourselves to see if this is actually real. #Ray, premieres June 25!”
From the creator Sayantan Mukherjee, the series also includes Shweta Basu Prasad, Anindita Bose, Bidita Bag, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Radhika Madan, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor in significant roles.
