Rekke’s teaser promises a blood-curdling journey of murder and mystery

Srijit Mukherji is back with the teaser of his upcoming Hoichoi original series ‘Rabindranath Ekhane Kokhono Khete Asenni’ a.k.a Rekke. Based on a novel by Mohammed Nazim Uddin, the show is a murder thriller, involving a restaurant and its mysterious owner, with a hidden past and some blood trail on the way. The teaser hints at a plot that dives into the depths of this murderous tale of horror.

Directed by Srijit Mukherji, the star-studded cast comprises Rahul Bose, Anirban Bhattacharya, Anjan Dutt, Azmeri Haque Badhon, Anirban Chakrabarti and Alexx O’Nell. With all the actors essaying pivotal characters, the surprise lies in how the plot would unfold to reveal the mastermind.

The teaser starts on a rather grim note with a crashed plane, scattered bodies and some grisly humans who remind us of zombies. Revolving around a restaurant and its owner who’s hiding a secret, we are soon introduced to the characters one by one, who get entangled in a game of chess, where the pawns get murdered, while the players inch closer to the horrid truth behind these killings.

Playing the mysterious restaurant owner, Mushkan Zuberi, is the popular Bangladeshi actress Azmeri Haque Badhon, while Rahul Bose essays the role of journalist Nirupam Chanda, who decides to cover a story on the restaurant, and soon gets suspicious about the origin and activities of Mushkan. Anirban Bhattacharya plays the character of servant Ator Ali, while Anirban Chakrabarti is cast as a cop Tapan Sikdar and Anjan Dutt - an investigator, Khawraj Khashnobish.

Produced by SVF Entertainment, the series is scheduled to stream on Hoichoi from August 13.
