Modern Love Hyderabad is the regional adaptation of Amazon Prime Video's popular Modern Love inspired by stories from the NYTimes column of the same name. Nagesh Kukunoor is the showrunner of the six-part anthology that also comprises shorts by Venkatesh Maha, Uday Gurrala and Devika Bahudhanam. Among them, Revathy plays a key role in My Unlikely Dream Pandemic Partner, helmed by Nagesh Kukunoor himself that also stars Nithya Menen.

In the short, Revathy is cast as Mehrunisa, the on-screen mother to Nithya Menen. Sharing her experience of being part of the film, she said it was a relief to see a mother character with an identity of her own and a story that makes her opinion count. She was reportedly tired of being cast as a mother with the role offering her nothing beyond conventions. "When a mother really has a characterisation which contributes to the story, it changes the feel of the script," she adds.

The story of the short revolves around a mother and a daughter coming to terms with one another during the lockdown and bonding over Hyderabadi delicacies. "Mehrunisa is a character that I have played all my life. It wasn't about the lockdown but the character visualised by Nagesh that made me say yes to it. I loved it," Revathy mentions. This is the first time that Revathy and Nithya Menen are sharing screen-space.

Modern Love Hyderabad's cast also features Suhasini Maniratnam, Naresh, Aadhi Pinisetty, Ritu Varma, Abijeet Duddala, Malavika Nair, Naresh Agastya, Rag Mayur, Komalee Prasad and Ulka Gupta among others. The show premieres on Amazon Prime Video on July 8.
