RG Kar protest: Solanki Roy, and Soham Majumder join the rally

On August 9, an on-duty doctor was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. Ever since the city has been witnessing unprecedented protests to demand justice for the deceased and their family. On August 14, thousands of women took to the streets to host rallies at night. On September 1, the city witnessed yet another massive rally that was dotted with celebrities and common people alike. There was a Supreme Court hearing on September 5 which later got postponed. However, a large number of protest initiatives shook the city. 

Like other times, Tollywood celebrities also joined in many of the protests. Actor Soham Majumder came from Mumbai and attended the Shyambazar assembly with his friend Solanki Roy. Solanki attended many protest events that happened over the last few days. 

There is a rumor about her relationship with Soham. However, none of them commented about it so far. On September 4, they both attended the assembly. Soham said that he was in Mumbai when the incident happened. About the arrest of Sandip Ghosh, he said, “Sandip is a small fry. There are bigger names. Bigger trees should be shaken.” He further added, “People are angry. We want justice because we made mistakes. We let patriarchy grow in small steps. We know how to apologize if we make mistakes.” 

Soham also asked the Supreme Court, “Let us be careful so that no innocent person gets punished. Many people are behind this., They deserve punishment.” He came to Kolkata on Tuesday. Soham said, “People from Mumbai asked me to go to Kolkata. All of them are angered. However, people from the city showed that they have a straight spine. Now no one is saying that the country is hopeless. Everyone is on the street.”
