The digital streaming rights of RK Suresh's latest offering Visithran has been bagged by Amazon Prime Video. The actor shared the news on his social media page, "21 days of visthiran ….digital rights bagged by Amazon @PrimeVideoIN." Director Seenu Ramasamy, too, praised the team and wrote on his social media page, "Meaningful effort will stream on people's heart.Happy to know about Digital rights bagged by @PrimeVideoINCongratulations #Visithran Entire team for your successful journey.@bstudios_offl @studio9_suresh @STUDIO9_produc@PadmakumarMangh @gvprakash @shamna_kkasim #Elavarasu (sic)." Director Seenu Ramasamy had earlier shared the trailer of the film on his social media page and wished the team. The trailer was launched on Ajith's birthday on May 1.
The star cast for Visithran includes Poorna, Madhu Shalini, Bhagavathi Perumal, Ilavarasu, George Maryan, G Marimuthu and Ani Murali. Music for the film is by GV Prakash, cinematography by Vetrivel Mahendran and editing is by Sathish Surya. The plot revolves around a police investigation and an important issue plaguing the society. The teaser for the film was released by Suriya and the makers have retained the prime plot with subtle changes to suit the Tamil audiences.
The Malayalam version Joseph, which was directed by M Padmakumar, who is also helming the Tamil version, and had Joju George playing the lead along with Dileesh Pothan, Irshad, Athmiya Rajan, Johny Antony, Sudhi Koppa, Malavika Mohan and Madhuri Braganza. The film was written by Shahi Kabir. Joju George won the Kerala State Award for his performance in it and received a special mention at the National Awards. The songs were composed by Ranjin Raj and Bhagyaraj and the background score was by Anil Johnson.
Joseph is now being remade in Telugu as Sekhar (starring Rajasekhar), in Kannada as Ravi Bopanna (starring Ravichandran) and in Hindi with Sunny Deol. The film will also stream on Simply South from tomorrow (May 27)
