Now, Rohit Shetty is all set to foray into the OTT space with his stunning action sequences and dramas. The director who holds the record of helming a maximum of 100 crore club films in India is working on his OTT debut. And of course, knowing the director, the series has to be a cop drama. The director will reportedly bankroll the series for Amazon Prime Video.
The shoot for the series is said to begin next year. The cast details of the series are under wraps right now. But speculations are that Vicky Kaushal, Sidharth Malhotra or Tiger Shroff will play the lead in the Golmaal director's web debut. They are the director's top choices reportedly because he is looking for someone adept at the action.
According to LetsOTT Global, Shetty's keener on Siddharth and Vicky Kaushal for the role. The mega-budget cop drama is said to have eight episodes which will be helmed by his assistant Sushwanth Prakash. However, there is no official confirmation on it so far. A source revealed to the portal that Rohit is in no hurry to announce his OTT venture.
Shetty has previously helmed three cop drama projects that include Ajay Devgn starrer Singham and Singham Returns, and Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba. His next with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif is also a cop drama titled Sooryavanshi. He is currently focussing on finalising the release of Sooryavanshi and would probably let all details of his OTT series after that.
Meanwhile, the three actors have quite a lot on their plates. Vicky is all set for the release of his film Sardar Udham Singh, based on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, on Amazon Prime Video. Tiger is working on his next Ganapath with Kriti Sanon, while Siddharth is busy with the film Mission Majnu opposite Rashmika Mandanna.
