Saani Kaayidham started streaming on Amazon Prime Video on May 6 around the world, and has captured the attention of Tamil movie fans. Filmmaker Selvaraghavan, who plays the lead in the movie, has now said that there is no need to brand the crime thriller as a violent film.

“Violence is an emotion, like love. We all are violent. That’s human nature. This movie is like that. It is about what happens when two people are pushed to their edge. Normally, we take it (lying down). Adjust and live with it.” Selvaraghavan told Indianexpress.com.

He added that this time, two people gave it back and we don't have to brand it as a violent film.

Talking further about the movie, he said that some atrocities happen to a person and we expect them to give it back and that Saani Kaayidhan was that kind of film. He added that emotions between the brother and sister are conveyed “beautifully” in the film and that there are countless such things in Saani Kaayidham.

Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the film is only his second project after Rocky, which was also received well following its release. Keerthy Suresh plays the lead along with Selvaraghavan, and the two actors deliver. While Selvaraghavan was seen in Vijay’s Beast, Saani Kaayidham was his first project as an actor.

“Though the film floats seamlessly on a thin storyline, Arun Matheswaran crafts the scenes; seasons them with intense writing (aided by some terrific background score by Sam CS) and sensitivity. All of this makes Saani Kaayidham, a compelling watch.” reads the movie’s review on OTTplay.

The crime action thriller which does not hold back on gore and graphic violence is no available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
