The makers of Sakath have recently dropped the latest song from the film, which seems to put a fresh spin onto the age-old cliché of how love is blind. The title of the song, Premakke Kannilla, echoes the classic Shakespearean quote as well.
Released by the music label Anand Audio, the video of the song prominently features Ganesh and Nishvika Naidu, both of whom seemingly play visually impaired characters in the film.
The visually engaging song shows some moments of affection between the couple. However, it also seems to give away an important plot point, as in several moments Ganesh’s character steals glances of his beloved, hinting that perhaps his impairment is a ruse after all.
With lyrics penned by Jayanth Kaikini, Premakke Kannilla features vocals by Pancham Jeeva and Shreya Iyer. Judah Sandhy serves as composer of Sakath’s soundtrack.
The upcoming Kannada film is directed by Suni and will mark the filmmaker’s second collaboration with Ganesh, after the 2017 romantic comedy, Chamak.
Sakath’s premise will follow a music-based reality show. According to reports in Cinema Express, Ganesh had talked about how thrilled he was to be a part of the film. He had claimed that the movie was completely distinct from the projects he had taken up before. The actor also lauded the director, praising the dialogues and script of the film.
In addition to Ganesh and Naidu, the film will also feature Surbhi Puranik in a pivotal role. Previous reports had also hinted that Ganesh’s son Vihan would join the film’s cast. He is likely to play the younger version of Ganesh's character.
Sakath is produced under the banners of KVN Productions and Suprith Productions. The film will reportedly be released on November 14, 2021.
