'Salaar' trend gains traction on Twitter, fans predict a massive announcement before Independence Day

Amid all the ongoing buzz about films such as Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan, and others, the Salaar trend has gained traction out of nowhere on social media. If the rumor mill is to be trusted, and also going by several reports swarming the internet, the makers of Salaar are all geared up to make an exciting announcement in the next two days and the fans would certainly have to brace themselves for this particular one.

While it is unclear as to what the update might be about, many users have speculated that it could come on Independence Day in the form of a new poster, which shall also reveal the new release date of the film. Salaar has been written and directed by Prashanth Neel with Prabhas and Shruti Haasan headlining the massive bilingual project and the team has been striving away for many months to bring the epic story to life.

With Neel joining forces with someone of the stature of Prabhas, and with K.G.F.: Chapter 2 producers Hombale Films added to the mix, the anticipation around the project has been incredibly high throughout. From reports suggesting that Prabhas plays a dual role in the film (of twin brothers) to rumors of production delays owing to the massive physical transformation he is required to undergo, the project has also been riddled with fanfare.

On the other hand, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran too confirmed at a recent press event that he will be playing a prominent role in Salaar, although his inclusion in the film would mainly depend on the scheduling. While the official confirmation regarding the same is yet to be made, fans have loved the prospects of Prithviraj and Prabhas sharing the same screen space.

As far as the upcoming announcement is concerned, it would be interesting to see if the makers do address any of the aforementioned pointers and put some of the rumors to rest. The film is slated to release in 2023.
