Salman Khan got emotional at IIFA 2022 while recalling his tough days back in the 90s. He spoke about an actress who took all the credit for his film and thus, he did not receive work for six months after that. This comes as a surprise since Salman became a superstar in the 90s itself.

Maniesh Paul asked Salman Khan what is his most memorable moment in life. While at IIFA, Salman recalled how Suniel Shetty helped him when he had no money.

He then spoke about how he was not recognized after his debut film as the lead actor, Maine Pyar Kiya. The Sooraj Barjatya directorial starred Bhagyashree in the lead role. While she made her debut with the film, the actress also announced that she is quitting acting to marry Himalaya Dassani. Salman, whose family was already going through a low phase financially, was unemployed for six months after she made the announcement. The actor said that she took all the limelight after the film through her announcement.

Salman then thanked Ramesh Taurani. He revealed that his father Salim Khan had paid GP Sippy Rs. 2000 to make a fake announcement that he had cast Salman in his film. Sippy made the announcement but without a photograph. Salman then revealed that Taurani paid Rs. 5 lakhs to the filmmaker and that helped him bag Patthar Ke Phool.

The actor also went on to show this gratitude towards Boney Kapoor. While giving him a hug, Salman said that Boney helped him throughout his life. He spoke about how Wanted (2009) brought him back in the limelight.

Salman then joked that Boney also cast him in No Entry, which brought Anil Kapoor back in the limelight. Of course, Salman gained equal spotlight, if not more, through the film.

Currently, Salman Khan is shooting for Bhaijaan, which was previously titled Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. He will then resume shooting for Tiger 3 as well. The actor is also looking forward to No Entry sequel with the original starcast and if things fall into place, he is expected to make an announcement soon.
