It’s a battle of brawns in Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma’s latest gangster drama, Antim: The Final Truth, that has got Bhai fans and commercial cinephiles excited. The much-hyped commercial actioner may follow in the steps of Salman Khan’s last release Radhe.

Bollywood Hungama reports that the movie is slated for a digital premiere on Zee 5. The Mahesh Manjrekar directorial pits Aayush Sharma as a gangster and the arch-enemy of a cop, played by Salman Khan, after his very popular turn donning the cop as Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg.

Salman sees Antim as a relaunch pad for his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma after a not-so-flying start that Aayush had with the 2018 romantic drama Loveyatri. And with theatres in Maharashtra closed due to the pandemic situation, the decision to go with a digital release to reach out to the target audience seemed the plausible way.

It’s not a direct-to-digital release as the team with Zee are planning on a ‘hybrid release’ on Zee5 along with a theatrical release in single screens across the country. This strategic move is so that fans can choose between watching their favourite star from the safety of their homes or heading out for their nearest single-screen theatre. It is unknown if the streaming platform will offer a pay per view or direct premiere scheme. It can be safely said that an all-out theatrical release is not happening, with the threat of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic looming large. More details are awaited on this.
