Samantar 2: Swwapnil Joshi’s show will continue the tale of fate

Samantar will be back for another intriguing season on July 1 on MX Player. The show follows the story of Kumar Mahajan (Swwapnil Joshi) whose life is being controlled by his future self, Sudarshan Chakrapani (Nitish Bharadwaj).

In the first season, Kumar found a diary that belonged to Sudarshan, which told him what to do next in life. Initially, Kumar felt he was following his destiny but he later realises that he’s being controlled by someone else.

Talking about the same, Swwapnil said in a statement, “Personally, I am a believer of the fact that hard work and perseverance can shape the way your life is, but there is indeed a universal force at play which deals with tough situations that sometimes are out of our control.” The actor further said that Kumar is challenging Chakrapani’s destiny in order to control his own fate.

On the theme of the show, Nitish said in the statement, “Destiny is a sum total of our own actions and decisions; so focus dispassionately on your karma and let destiny fructify.”

Swwapnil was last seen in the Marathi horror film Bali, opposite Pooja Sawant. The second instalment of Samantar also features Sai Tamhankar, Tejaswini Pandit in pivotal characters. The Marathi show can also be streamed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
