Sarkaru Vaari Paata box office collection Day 2: Mahesh Babu starrer witnesses a dip, nears the Rs 50 crore mark in Telugu states

Trade pundits were very surprised when Mahesh Babu's latest release, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, opened on a grand note on day 1 across the globe, collecting over Rs 75 crore (with Rs 37 crore coming from the Telugu states). The mixed reviews didn't prove a detterent to its collections on the opening day, though it had some effect on its performance on day 2. This was expected, given the film released on a Thursday.

After a fantastic start, the film managed to gross Rs 11.64 share in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on the second day. On the whole, Sarkaru Vaari Paata collected over Rs 48 crore in the Telugu states. The Nizam region has been the major contributor, earning Rs 17.5 crore in the first couple of days. Meanwhle in the US, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which crossed the $1.2 million mark on day one and premieres put together, has moved past the $1.5 million landmark now.  

Halfway into day two, Sarkaru Vaari Paata's collections (on day 2 alone i.e.) were $181,723 from 387 locations in US. While not many expected Sarkaru Vaari Paata would pull through on the second day, the figures tell us that the film has managed to stand tall overcoming the criticism from various corners. Saturday and Sunday are extremely crucial for the action entertainer to post decent figures in the overall theatrical run. The early reports for the weekend indicate that the bookings aren't upto the mark.

Keerthy Suresh played the female lead in the film that also featured Samuthirakani, Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, Subbaraju, Nadhiya and others in important roles. S Thaman scored the music while the technical team includes editor Marthand K Venkatesh, art director AS Prakash, cinematographer R Madhie, to name a few. Produced by GMB Entertainment, Mythri Movie Makers and 14 Reels Plus, Sarkaru Vaari Paata is expected to have its OTT premiere in the second half of June.
