HBO dropped a teaser trailer of its upcoming miniseries, Scenes from a Marriage, which is based upon Ingmar Bergman’s 1973 Swedish miniseries of the same name. The original series had set off to dissect a marriage between a family lawyer specializing in divorce and a psychology professor, as their marriage disintegrated over ten years.

Though the teaser doesn’t seem to reveal much of what the audience can expect from the series, the acting and the premise of the series is reminiscent of Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson’s 2019 film, A Marriage Story, which had reportedly borrowed elements from Ingmar Bergman’s miniseries.

Oscar Issac will be seen in Frank Herbert’s book adaptation, Dune later this year as it opens at the Venice Film Festival. Meanwhile, Jessica Chastain has a couple of projects lined up in the pipeline including The 355, a female-led spy film, alongside Lupita Nyong’o, Penelope Cruz and Fan Bingbing, The Eyes of Tammy Faye alongside Andrew Garfield and The Forgiven, alongside Ralph Fiennes.

The Hagai Levi directorial stars Sunita Mani, Nicole Beharie, Corey Stoll and Tovah Feldshuh in supporting roles. Meanwhile, Oscar Issac and Michelle Williams serve as executive producers.
