Seenu Ramasamy is among one of the most versatile filmmakers whose movies have deep and meaningful content. This time the National award-winning director is back to make a movie on the life of the British Engineer and member of the Madras Legislative Council, John Pennycuick.
John Pennycuick went down in history books for his brilliant work on the Mullaperiyar Dam which serves for the Periyar River in Idukki District of Kerala. Seenu Ramasamy is expected to bring out certain unknown facts of how the making of the dam went down and also instances of the life of the British Engineer. He is still revered by many people for he put immense effort and money into crafting the dam.
Talking about the Mullaperiyar dam, it is a major source of agriculture for the residents of several districts of Tamil Nadu. It would be intriguing to find out how Seenu Ramasamy would bring out these elements while making the upcoming biopic.
Seenu Ramasamy is currently occupied with the post-production work of GV Prakash’s upcoming movie Idi Muzhakkam. He is also awaiting the release of Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming drama Maamanithan. The filmmaker is known to have made several acclaimed movies with the Makkal Selvan like the National-award winning movie, Thenmerku Paruvakaatru, yet-to-be-released Idam Porul Yaeval and the successful Dharma Durai.
Various reports stated that the director was in talks about making a sequel to Dharma Durai. Seenu Ramasamy took to social media to clear the air that he has no association to its making. Its producer RK Suresh also talked about his plans on roping in the director again to make Dharma Durai 2. If things go down well, we may see the National-award winning filmmaker return to the sets of the second movie to bring his magic back.
