Selvaraghavan reveals about Dhanush's additional contribution to their next outing Naane Varuven

The shooting of Selvaraghavan's Naane Varuven was wrapped up a while ago. The film marks his reunion with Dhanush after more than a decade; Mayakkam Enna was the duo's last movie. Needless to say, their mutual fans can't wait for an announcement on the release date of the project. 

In an interview to Indiaglitz, Selva has now surprised everyone by revealing that Dhanush has written the screenplay of the film. This is the first time that the former has directed a film which has a story penned by the latter. 

Selva said that he found the script interesting because of which he decided to go ahead and direct it. The acclaimed filmmaker has directed only his own scripts till date. Tamil film buffs are excited ever since he has let out this news which was hidden from others. 

He also said that the decision to do Naane Varuven was made by them after brainstorming for several months. They even thought of coming up with a sequel to their film Pudhupettai which released in 2006. 

Finally, they zeroed in on Naane Varuven. Selva said, "The script was intriguing from the beginning to the end. What he came up with was quite a challenging story to make." Elli AvRam plays the female lead in the film which has Yuvan Shankar Raja playing music. The movie is also the first project which has Dhanush essaying dual roles.

Kalaippuli S Thanu has produced the movie under V Creations. Dhanush had joined hands with the producer in recent times twice, for Asuran and Karnan. Om Prakash has cranked the camera for Naane Varuven which has stunt choreography designed by Stunt Silva. Billed as a psychological thriller, a lion's share of the film's shooting happened in Ooty.
