Shahid Kapoor reveals wife Mira Rajput's emotional reaction to Jersey

Shahid Kapoor will return to the big screen with Jersey, more than two years after his last film, Kabir Singh (2019). While the actor awaits the audience's reaction to the play, he has the blessing of his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor. He has remarked on numerous occasions that his wife is his worst critic. 

During an interaction with Mid Day, Kapoor revealed that sometimes after a viewing, Mira just comes home and says, "Don't waste too much time on this film," and asks him to move on quickly.

Mira, on the other hand, has been left with a lasting impression by director Gowtam Tinnanuri's film, in which the actor plays a defeated man who rediscovers his love for cricket. 

The actor added that when she saw Jersey, she hugged him and cried for 15 minutes. Kapoor believes she was taken aback by the fact that he was playing a father in the film. The film, to him, is the narrative of every married person in this nation. The actor explained that everyone has goals when they are in their twenties. When one has obligations and children, they may abandon their passion in favour of doing what is practical. Mira gained a better understanding of Kapoor as a person after watching Jersey; she could relate to his hardships. The Vivah actor revealed that she had a strong emotional response to the film.

Mira serves as a sounding board for Kapoor as well as an objective reviewer. He emphasises how much he respects her perspective because she reacts emotionally to stories. The actor recalled watching Udta Punjab with her in 2016. It had only been a year since they tied the knot. There was a six-foot gap between them by the time the interval came. Mira murmured to the actor that she was afraid of him. She even asked him if he had Tommy's personality. From Mira to Shahid, every film elicits an honest response.

Talking about Jersey, the film features Mrunal Thakur as the female lead. The Hindi remake of the hit Telugu film is slated for release on April 22, 2022, after being postponed by a week.
