Shahid Kapoor is thrilled about his first project with the director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishana DK. Earlier this year, the director duo and the actor announced a web series together. According to reports, the Kabir Singh actor is said to be appearing in a never-seen-before avatar in the upcoming show and is currently going through rigorous training for the same. The forthcoming series will also feature Rashi Khanna as the leading lady.

Shahid plays Sunny in the series, which also has Vijay Sethupathi. A close source from the team told BollywoodLife that Shahid’s character will blow the audiences' minds. “Raj and DK are known to make their characters in a way that instantly strike a chord. And Shahid's character is going to be no different. It is nothing that you have seen him do before. It is going to be a treat for not just Shahid's fans, but all OTT buffs too,” the source was quoted as saying.

The director duo’s previous series The Family Man 2 won critical acclaim. The Manoj Bajpayee-starrer also features Priyamani, Samantha Akkineni, Sharib Hashmi, Sharad Kelkar and Shreya Dhanwanthary. The talented filmmakers also announced the third season of the espionage thriller show at the end of the second instalment.

Meanwhile, Shahid was last seen playing the titular character in the 2019 romantic drama film Kabir Singh opposite Kiara Advani. He has completed the shooting schedule for the upcoming Hindi remake of the Telugu sports drama Jersey opposite Mrunal Thakur. The actor is currently busy filming Shashank Khaitan’s directorial Yoddha opposite Disha Patani.

Raj & DK’s untitled web series will drop on Amazon Prime Video. The date of release is yet not revealed.
