The discussion on pan India films seems to be a never ending one, with stars from all over the film industry having their own unique takes about the term. Recently, Shamshera actor Ranbir Kapoor opened up about what he thought constitutes a ‘pan India’ film.
In conversation with India Today, the actor revealed that he thought every film had the potential to be called a pan India film. According to Ranbir, if people liked the film’s story and it managed to draw a lot of audiences, then it could be called a pan India film. When helming a film, a director’s aim is to reach as many people as he possibly can. Ranbir added that if a film and its story was strong enough, it had potential to even become a ‘pan world film’.
Ranbir spoke about how the term ‘pan India film’ was a relatively new term. He said that such terms had also popped up in the past, and had now become ‘faded’. He talked about the term ‘Rs 100 crore club’ as an example. Right now, pan India was a relatively new term. “If you make a good film, whether it's small or big, the audience will watch the film", he said.
Ranbir will next be seen in the Karan Malhotra directorial Shamshera, which marks the former’s comeback to the big screen after more than three years. The upcoming film is scheduled for release on July 22 will see him share the screen with Vaani Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Ashutosh Rana and Ronit Roy. Ranbir also has Brahmastra scheduled for release on September 9. The actor is also working on an untitled film helmed by Luv Ranjan, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor.
