Shark Tank India has given the Indian audience enough and more to discuss since the show started airing. The latest news sees Lenskart co-founder Peyush Bansal slammed for making comments about machines that can detect cataracts.
Priyanjit Ghosh, co-founder of an AI-based digital patient communication platform took to a dig at Bansal for claiming that no artificial intelligence platform can accurately detect the cataract.
During one of the episodes, Bansal said that cataract is a big problem in India today and that there is no AI based programme globally today that can accurately detect the problem.
In reply to this, Ghosh took to LinkedIn to write, “We have solved cataract screening with ‘AI’ from just smartphone images having achieved 91% accuracy over 10,000+ screening done till now!”
He further wrote saying that he is not a contestant of Shark Tank India, but he has experience working with AI to deal with detecting cataract and that with minimum resources, he has been able to help people with cataract screening successfully with smartphones.
Based on the American show Shark Tank, the show will have young entrepreneurs pitch ideas to the ‘sharks’, who could invest in the ideas if they are impressed by the pitch.
