Shark Tank India’s judge Ashneer Grover has been hitting headlines for his snarky remarks on the show but there is something else that Ashneer’s name has also been associated with now – leaving BharatPe. Despite being the MD, it was rumoured that he is quitting BharatPe but Ashneer refused the same. He has instead demanded Rs. 4000 crores to do so.
In an interview with MoneyControl, Ashneer cleared that he is not quitting BharatPe. “I am the MD. I run the company. If the board thinks I don’t need to be the MD, someone else should run the company,” Ashneer said before adding that anybody willing to do so can pay his Rs. 4000 crores and take the keys from him.
Ashneer added that a founder is someone who has the spine to raise money from someone and not dance to their tunes. He pointed out the difference between an employee and a founder and how the latter gives higher return on the money than anybody till date.
The businessman is willing to sell his stakes in the company if he gets the value that he demands. He points out that he would either want to run the company and be a shareholder or sell it to anyone he wants to.
The BharatPe MD assures that he has cleared all the deals made on Shark Tank India, in contrary to the business minds returning the cheques issued by Ashneer. In fact, he adds that he had to sign more cheques than what was televised.
Ashneer gained more popularity after he appeared on Shark Tank India as a judge. His memes especially have been circulating all across the internet and they all speak volumes about his savge nature. Many have even called him ‘Indian Gordon Ramsay’, all in appreciation of his business sense.
Recently, Ashneer and the other Shark Tank India judges aka Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar, Ghazal Alagh and Peyush Bansala were seen partying after the success of their show. The bash was hosted by Anupam.
