Rishi Kapoor fans will be able to see the late star grace the screen with his charisma one more time in his last film, Sharmaji Namkeen. His wife, Neetu Kapoor, recently talked about how important the film was for the late actor, and how excited he had been when he started working on it.

Amazon Prime Video had recently shared a video featuring Rishi and Neetu’s son Ranbir Kapoor, where the latter is seen talking about Rishi and the upcoming film. He talked about how Rishi had fallen sick in the middle of the film’s shoot, and wanted to finish it, but could not. Paresh Rawal had stepped in to finish the film after Rishi’s passing, playing the same character the late star had.

Neetu shared the video on her official Instagram handle, and in the caption talked about how the film was ‘very close to her heart’. She mentioned how excited Rishi had been for the film, and how he had been keen to complete filming even after his treatment.

The upcoming film is touted to be a coming-of-age tale about a recently retired man who decides to pursue his passion for cooking. The film also features Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha,Raza Mishra and Isha Talwar. Hitesh Bhatia has directed the film from a script written by him along with Supratik Sen. Excel Entertainment has produced the film, in association with filmmaker Honey Trehan and Abhishek Choubey under their banner MacGuffin Pictures.

Sharmaji Namkeen will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video on March 31 .
