It has been a year since Shershaah made its way onto Amazon Prime Video. The biographical film, based on the life of Kargil War hero Vikram Batra, found its place as a favourite of Sidharth Malhotra fans and made its mark as one of the most watched Indian films on Amazon Prime Video at the time of its release. While Sidharth starred as Vikram, Kiara Advani starred as the military officer’s girlfriend Dimple Cheema. As the film turned one year old today, the stars took to their social media handles to pay tribute to the war drama.

Sidharth shared a video from the film which featured the real Vikram Batra’s twin brother Vishal. The latter is heard speaking of how it felt like his brother was standing before him, when he saw Sidharth in the uniform. The video talked about the indelible legacy Shershaah left behind with its story, that ‘touched the hearts of India and beyond’. Calling it a story ‘of courage, sacrifice and eternal love’, the actor captioned the post “One film, one year, one story that inspired us all! Your love, support & appreciation for this film has said enough, all I would like to add is, #1YearOfShershaah aur “yeh dil maange more!”.

Kiara also shared the video on her official Instagram handle, and captioned it “One film, one year, multitudinous love! To a story that stirred up emotions across the world, winning hearts & awards aplenty & leaving an impact of a lifetime. #1YearOfShershaah, “yeh dil maange more!”.

In addition to Sidharth and Kiara, Shershaah also featured Shiv Panditt, Himanshu Ashok Malhotra, Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, Nikitin Dheer, Anil Charanjeett, Sahil Vaid, Shataf Figar and Pawan Chopra in prominent roles. Vishnuvardhan had directed the 2021 film, which marked his Bollywood debut, from a script written by Sandeep Shrivastava.
