Shilpa Rao is one of many people who have been grieved by the untimely death of 53-year-old singer KK (Krishnakumar Kunnath). Singer's most recent live performance took place at Nazrul Manch in Kolkata, West Bengal. According to Shilpa, in an interview with Hindustan Times, she described her final encounter with KK, which was about 10 days ago.

While she still can't believe KK is no longer alive, “We met at a concert and I remember hugging him for two minutes straight. I didn’t know that would be the last time I met him or spoke to him.”

As she continues to speak about her friendship with the artist," I believe a bond with a fellow musician is inseparable because their music lives on in our hearts forever. I was fortunate that I had the opportunity of opening his concert and watching him perform live and always learning from experience for me," Shilpa said.

Shilpa recalls singing Khuda Jaane with him for Bachna Ae Haseeno for the first time in 2008. KK helped the singer and encouraged her to understand the music industry since she was new in the field, according to the singer.

“From recording the song in the studio to performing live with KK, it was a great experience for me. Khuda Jaane would have been incomplete without him,” singer added.

Shilpa and KK have recorded on numerous songs other than Khuda Jaane, including Koi Jaane Na from Hijack (2008), Oya Oya from Horn Ok Pleassss (2009) and Apna Bombay Talkies from Bombay Talkies (2013).
