THIS ACTRESS was to play the leading lady in ‘Jab We Met' and ‘Munnabhai MBBS’! But...

For all the fans of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Geet act and her antics in the breezy hit film ‘Jab We Met’ and also the svelte and petite Vidya Balan’s role in ‘Munnabhai MBBS’, here is some piece of trivia news for you. Did you know that Kareena Kapoor Khan’s iconic role of the freewheeler Geet was initially offered to the ‘Tere Naam girl’ Bhumika Chawla. This was revealed by none other than Bhumika Chawla herself in an interview with RJ Siddharth Kanan.

While talking to Siddharth Kanan in the interview, the petite Bhumika Chawla said (read ‘revealed’), “I got many offers (post ‘Tere Naam’). I've always been selective and choosy about what I do. I had signed a big film after it, that unfortunately the production changed, then hero changed, the film title changed. Then the heroine was changed too. But if I had done that it would have been different. As they say, jo likha hai, woh hota hai (whatever has been written in the destiny, only that will happen). I waited for that film for one year and didn’t sign for any other film. Later, I signed another film which didn’t happen too. Baaki jo ki gayee woh shaayad utni chali nahi ya chali (the films that I did after ‘Tere Naam’ did not meet up with that much of successs). It’s just like gambling, you don’t know when and which movie will work.”

Bhumika Chawla went onto add that the only time when she felt bad was when she had signed ‘Jab We Met’, and it didn't happen. She also revealed that, initially, the film ‘Jab We Met’ was planned with her (Bhumika Chawla) and Bobby Deol. And that the film (then) was called ‘The Train’. Post that, the decided pairing was between Shahid Kapoor and Ayesha Takia (which too did not materialize), and eventually, it was Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan. She went onto added that, not just ‘Jab We Met’, she had also signed Munna Bhai MBBS, which also, did not happen. In the same breath, she said that, Raju Sir (Rajkumar Hirani), the only person who could share that, had told her the reason after 10-12 years when they had met at a place. Bhumika said that Raju sir had told her that, because of somebody’s mistake, she was removed from the film. Besides these two films, Bhumika Chawla also revealed that, even Mani (Ratnam) sir’s ‘Kannathil Muthamittal’ didn’t happen.
