Suriya had released the first look poster of the project earlier this month which had the robot posing for a selfie along with the lead actors
The first look poster of the film
The first look posters of Koogle Kuttapa, the Tamil remake of Malayalam film Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25, was released a while ago, evincing interest among movie buffs. KS Ravikumar and Bigg Boss Tamil fame Tharshan Thiyagarajah will be seen playing the roles enacted by National Award-winning actor Suraj Venjaramoodu and actor-turned-filmmaker Soubin Shahir respectively in the Mollywood version.
On Friday, Sivakarthikeyan released the film's fun-filled teaser which is of one-minute duration and expresses his happiness in unveiling the same. The teaser has the intriguing robot performing various tasks like cooking, indulging in physical activities, and so on, leaving the onlookers surprised, much similar to its Malayalam version. However, unlike Kunjappan, Kuttapa is also seen engaging in farming by harvesting and driving a tractor.

Losliya Mariyanesan, who also shot to fame with Bigg Boss Tamil, will play female lead in the movie, which will have Yogi Babu playing a prominent role in it. The makers had earlier revealed that comedian's role is an addition in the Tamil version, which is helmed by Sabari and Saravanan, former assistants of Ravikumar. Suriya had released the first look poster of the project earlier this month which had Ravikumar, Tharshan, Losliya and Yogi Babu posing for a selfie along with the robot.
Sabari and Saravanan had earlier revealed that they wanted to make Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25, which released in 2019, in Tamil after they were impressed with it. They approached Ravikumar with the idea and the veteran filmmaker-turned-actor himself agreed to produce the remake, which was shot in Tenkasi, Kuttralam and abroad. We hear the makers have made little changes in a few scenes to suit the taste of Tamil audience. Koogle Kuttapa is one among the many remakes Kollywood is awaiting this year. The movie has music by Ghibran and editing by Praveen.
