Podcast transcript:

Hey, welcome to another podcast of sizzling samachar, your one-stop shop for news from the entertainment and movie world. This is OTTplay, I'm your host and dost Nikhil with you.

First up on today's news,

Amazon Prime Video made a colossal announcement of launching a bundled subscription deal for all its users. The streaming platform partners with eight other OTT players including Discovery+, Lionsgate Play, hoichoi, MUBI among others to provide users with an all-access card of sorts. So tune in and don't miss out on those amazing shows all on one screen!

If you ever were a fan of 1999 rom-com Notting Hill, where Hugh Grant’s dreamy eyes and Julia Roberts’ pregnant stares overwhelmed your sappy heart, then this news will surely come as a shocker. The film’s director, Roger Michell, also known for films like Venus and My Cousin Rachel, has passed away aged 65. The reason behind his demise is not known yet. Michell is survived by four children from his two marriages to Kate Buffery and Anna Maxwell Martin (both of which ended in a separation).

Moving on, Some of the biggest names in Hollywood have been roped in for the voice cast of the upcoming Super Mario Bros. animated film. Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Seth Rogen, Jack Black, and Keegan-Michael Key will be part of the movie, which releases in US theatres on 21 December this year. No Indian release date has yet been finalized.

Pratt and Day will play the dungaree-sporting Italian plumbers Mario and Luigi, respectively, who undertake the journey to rescue Princess Peach, played by Queen’s Gambit alum Anya Taylor-Joy. Jack Black will voice the baddie Bowser while Seth Rogan will play Donkey Kong.

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is all set to be remade over two decades after its release. No surprise that director Anil Sharma, who had helmed the 2001 blockbuster, will return to steer this new project too.

In the lead will be seen Sharma’s son Utkarsh, who played the role of Tara Singh, and Sakina’s young son Jeete in the original film. The new movie will center around Jeete.

Featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, the Partition drama is touted to be the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.

Moving on to the United States, the Chief medical adviser to the President of the United States, Dr. Anthony Fauci is getting his own documentary. It will focus on his life, both personal and professional, from his time as an AIDS researcher during the 80s endemic to working under the Trump and Biden administrations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tamil actor Yogi Babu is set to appear alongside Oviya in the upcoming film Contractor Nesamani. The movie’s title is in fact named after the popular character played by Tamil comedy legend Vadivelu in the 2001 film ‘Friends’. Watch out for this super comedy flick!

Alright, that's the top sizzling samachar for today, I shall be back with some more interesting and juicy tidbits from the movie and entertainment world, it's me Nikihl signing off for now!
