Jake Schreier to helm Marvel’s Thunderbolts

Marvel Studios is developing a film based on Thunderbolts, a team of supervillains with Robot & Frank director Jake Schreier is set to helm the project. Thunderbolts is Marvel’s version of DC’s Suicide Squad, and revolves around a group of anti-heroes who must complete missions assigned by the government. Black Widow writer Eric Pearson is credited with the screenplay.

Angelina Jolie to direct Salma Hayek

Acclaimed actress Angelina Jolie is set to direct her next film titled, Without Blood, which is based on Alessandro Baricco novel of the same name. Jolie’s Eternals co-star Salma Hayek has been cast in the film along with Demián Bichir. The book revolves around a woman named Nina who has experienced traumatizing events as a child.

Sydney Sweeney to play Reality Winner

Euphoria actor Sydney Sweeney will play the lead role in director Tina Satter’s debut film, Reality Winner. The film is based on Reality Winner, a former intelligence specialist who was sentenced to five years of prison for leaking confidential government reports to the media. The film will also feature Josh Hamilton and Marchánt Davis.

Noah Jupe joins Apple TV+ series on Benjamin Franklin

Apple TV+’s untitled series on Benjamin Franklin has added A Quiet Place star Noah Jupe to its cast. The series, which has Michael Douglas essaying the role of Franklin, will also feature Ludivine Sagnier,Daniel Mays, and Eddie Marsan. Jupe will play Temple Franklin, Benjamin’s grandson, in the eight-part series.

Lisa Wilcox and Tuesday Knight team up again

Actors Lisa Wilcox and Tuesday Knight, who had earlier worked on A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, are reuniting for the upcoming horror film The Bloody Man. Directed by Daniel Benedict, the film is an ode to the iconic slasher horror films of the ‘80s.

Colin Farrell set to star in Sugar

The Batman actor Colin Farrell has joined the cast of Apple TV+ series Sugar. While the details about the plot of the series are limited, it is reportedly a private detective story set in Los Angeles. Mark Protosevich is credited as the creator of the series.

Saara Chaudry and Anders Holm join The Muppets Mayhem

The Mysterious Benedict Society star Saara Chaudry and Inventing Anna actor Anders Holm have been added to the cast of the Disney+ series The Muppets Mayhem. Chaudry will play Hannah, who has built a social media empire through her make-up videos, while Holm will essay the role of JJ, a tech entrepreneur, in the series.

The Last of Us TV show adds live-action voice cast

The highly anticipated HBO TV series, The Last of Us, based on the critically acclaimed PlayStation video game franchise, has added the original voice cast to play minor roles in the series. Award-winning voice acting legends Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who essayed the lead roles of Joel and Ellie in the games, will now make appearances in the show. HBO recently released the first look of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as the live-action versions of Joel and Ellie. It coincided with PlayStation and game developers Naughty Dog’s announcement that a remake for The Last of Us Part 1 for the PlayStation 5 is coming out this year on September 2nd.
