Monsters at Work to return with second season

Disney+’s animated series Monsters at Work is set to return with a second season in 2023. The streaming platform announced the news through its Twitter page along with a video montage of the first season. The series features the voice talents of Ben Feldman, Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Mindy Kaling, Henry Winkler, Lucas Neff, and Alanna Ubach.

Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story to feature a star-studded cast

Netflix’s film Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story will feature a star-studded cast of Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Amy Schumer, Hugh Grant, and James Marsden. Stand-up comedian and actor Jerry Seinfeld, who marks his directorial debut with the project, also stars in the film. Set in 1963 Michigan, the film follows the origin story of the popular breakfast delicacy Pop-Tarts.

Dakota Fanning joins Denzel Washington’s Equalizer 3

Dakota Fanning is set to reunite with her Man on Fire co-star Denzel Washington in the third installment of the Equalizer franchise. Antoine Fuqua is attached to direct the film, based on a screenplay penned by Richard Wenk. The film is expected to be released in September next year.

Peyton List to headline Paramount+ series School Spirits

Cobra Kai star Peyton List has fetched the lead role in the Paramount+ series School Spirits. Based on the upcoming graphic novel by Nate Trinrud, Megan Trinrud, and Maria Nguyen, the series follows a teenage girl who gets trapped in the afterlife. Pretty Little Liars and Bridgerton writer Oliver Goldstick will serve as the showrunner for the series.

Sylvester Stallone to star in new gangster drama

Veteran Hollywood action star Sylvester Stallone is set to essay the role of an ex-gangster who makes a comeback to the world of crime after spending 25 years in prison. Titled, Tulsa King, the series is created by acclaimed filmmaker and showrunner Taylor Sheridan. Sheridan, who has directed films such as Hell or High Water and Wind River, as well as TV shows such as Yellowstone, has written and co-produced Tulsa King along with The Sopranos writer and Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter.

Thor director Taika Waititi to create new characters for his Star Wars film

Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi is set to helm a new Star Wars film for Disney. The filmmaker revealed that he intends to expand the lore of the Star Wars universe by introducing new characters and storylines for the franchise. Waititi explained that he did not want to make the story feel small by reintroducing pre-existing characters.

Ironheart adds Manny Montana to its cast

The highly anticipated Disney+ Original Marvel series Ironheart has added Good Girls star Manny Montana to its cast. Created by Mike Deodato and Brian Michael Bendis, the series tells the story of Riri Williams aka Ironheart, a brilliant young scientist who creates an advanced version of the Iron Man suit. Dominique Thorne stars as the titular character in the series.

Gina Rodriguez to play the lead in new Prime Video series

Amazon Studios has greenlit a new Prime Video series adapted from QCode's thriller podcast Last Known Position. Gina Rodriguez, star of the hit comedy Jane the Virgin, who also voiced the lead in the podcast, will essay the lead role in the live-action adaptation. The story follows Mikaela Soto, a submersible pilot, who accompanies a team of pilots to investigate the disappearance of a brand new commercial jetliner.
