Rocketry: The Nambi Effect to stream on Amazon Prime Video from July 26

R Madhavan’s directorial debut Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video from July 26th. Madhavan plays former scientist Nambi Narayanan in the film which also features Simran, Rajit Kapur, and Ravi Raghavendra. The film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Kunchacko Boban’s Nna Thaan Case Kodu hits theaters on August 11

Kunchacko Boban’s upcoming film Nna Thaan Case Kodu is set to hit theaters on August 11th. The film revolves around a man who goes to court after being bitten by a dog. Android Kunjappan director Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval has helmed the film which also stars Gayathrie, Saiju Kurup, Vinay Forrt and Rajesh Madhavan.

Hugh Jackman to star in Koala Man

Acclaimed actor Hugh Jackman has been cast in Hulu’s upcoming adult animated comedy series Koala Man. Created by Michael Cusack, who also plays the titular character, the series revolves around Kevin, a middle-aged family man who goes by the alias Koala Man and whose only superpower is following rules and maintaining law and order in Dapto. Jackman will voice the character of Big Greg, the head of the town council.

Abbott Elementary’s creator accused of copyright infringement

A week after ABC’s Abbott Elementary fetched seven Emmy nominations, allegations of copyright infringement have been raised against ABC and show creator Quinta Brunson. Aspiring writer and actress Christine Davis have claimed that the premise of Abbott Elementary was lifted from her show called This School Year. Davis also alleged that many of the characters were nearly identical to her show’s characters. Abbott Elementary revolves around the teachers and students of a Philadelphia public school and is available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar in India.

Madame Web’s release postponed

Sony has pushed the release of the Spider-Man spinoff Madame Web from July 7 to October 6 next year. Directed by S.J. Clarkson, the film features Dakota Johnson in the titular role. Sydney Sweeney, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott also star in the film.

Michael Peña to play astronaut Jose Hernandez

Michael Peña, who was last seen in the sci-fi disaster film Moonfall, will play astronaut Jose Hernandez in A Million Miles Away. The Good Girls director Alejandra Màrquez Abella is directing the film for Amazon Studios. The film is based on Hernandez’s autobiography Reaching for the Stars.

Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends reboots in the works

Craig McCracken, the creator of two classic animated shows for children Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, is developing reboots for both TV shows. The Powerpuff Girls reboot will have Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup fighting old as well as new villains. The reboot of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends will feature a new set of imaginary friends.

Sex Education gets manga adaptation

Netflix’s hit series Sex Education has become a manga. Illustrated by John Tarachine, the first issue of the series is already available on Kadokawa's Comic Bridge website. Sex Education premiered on Netflix in 2019 and features Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, and Connor Swindells in pivotal roles.
