Godzilla and Titans MonsterVerse TV Show in the Works at Apple TV+

Godzilla and other Titans are set to get a series at Apple TV+, the streaming platform recently announced. The live-action TV show, based in the universe of the legendary franchise, will follow the events of 2021’s Godzilla vs Kong. 

Perry Mason adds actors to season 2 cast

Matthew Rhys, Justin Kirk, Eric Lange and Chris Chalk , Diarra Kilpatrick have joined the cast of the HBO drama Perry Mason. The second season will feature these four actors, and will chart the events following the Dodson trial that ended with the first installment. The series has also onboarded two new showrunners this time. 

Jodie Foster joins Annette Bening in Netflix’s Nyad

Netflix’s upcoming biopic on marathon swimmer Diana Nyad has nabbed Jodie Foster for an unnamed role. Foster will join Annette Bening in Nyad, directed by Oscar-winning director duo Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin. Diana Nyad was 64 years old when she swam from Cuba to Florida without taking the help of a shark cage. The life-threatening journey took her 53 hours to complete. Bening will essay the role of Nyad in the biopic.

Netflix greenlights Wallace and Gromit movie, Chicken Run sequel

A brand-new Wallace and Gromit movie and the Chicken Run sequel are at works at Netflix, the streaming platform has announced. The sequel has been titled Dawn Of The Nugget and will have Thandie Newton and Zachary Levi voice Ginger and Rocky, respectively. Not many details about the Wallace and Gromit film are out yet, except that it will premiere on the streamer globally in 2024. Dawn of the Nugget will arrive a year earlier, in 2023. 

Netflix announces Squid Game season 2

Streaming giant Netflix has confirmed that breakout hit Korean dystopian survival thriller Squid Game will return for a second season. The news was officially announced by CEO Ted Sarandos during the 2021 fourth-quarter earnings report. 

Disney animated film Aristocats gets a live-action remake

The classic 1970 Disney animated film Aristocats is confirmed for a live-action remake by the studio. The story follows the lives of a family of aristocratic cats who are betrayed and left to fend for themselves in unknown pastures.

A Christmas Story sequel announced

 The 1983 film A Christmas Story will have a sequel nearly four decades after the original film’s release. Peter Billingsley will reprise his role for the film, and the film will be directed by Clay Kaytis. The new film will be set in the 70s where Billingsley’s character, Ralphie, revisits his childhood home with his family.
