‘The Crown’ Creator and Netflix Chief Tease Exciting Future for British Royals in TV

Peter Morgan, the creator of The Crown, and Netflix chief Ted Sarandos are considering potential future projects involving the British Royal Family, even after The Crown ends. While Morgan acknowledges the show has been a significant challenge, he believes that cinematic television is a rare and dying art form that should be cherished. He also mentioned that he has an idea for a potential new series that would explore the history of the Royals, but he has other projects to complete first. This indicates that Netflix is open to the possibility of continuing the exploration of the British Royal Family's history through television shows. The Crown is set to conclude with an epic six-decade-spanning story, with the final season being divided into two parts. The series will conclude the stories of not only the Windsor family but also focus on Diana, Princess of Wales. The show features a talented cast, with Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, and others reprising their roles. Newcomers will also join the cast to portray younger royals.

Star-Studded Cast Announced for Mike Flanagan's 'The Life of Chuck'

Horror auteur Mike Flanagan is bringing Stephen King's The Life of Chuck to life with an impressive cast, including Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill. Known for blending established stars with fresh talent, Flanagan introduces Instagram influencer and musician Taylor Gordon alongside established actors like Scream’s Matthew Lillard, The New World’s Q'Orianka Kilcher, and What We Do in the Shadows’ star Harvey Guillén. Flanagan's history of spotting emerging talents is evident in his previous collaboration with TikTok sensation Ruth Codd. The film also reunites Flanagan with his frequent collaborators, further elevating the star power. The Life of Chuck tells a deeply personal story for Flanagan, adapting a King tale from the "If It Bleeds" anthology. Production is underway in Alabama, and this independent project promises to be another compelling entry in Flanagan's body of work, who recently helmed the Netflix series The Fall of the House of Usher to critical acclaim.

David Fincher Reveals Cancelled 'World War Z' Sequel's Unique Inspiration and Fate

Director David Fincher has shared insights into the cancelled sequel to World War Z. Fincher, who was set to helm the film before its cancellation, revealed that the sequel would have been similar to the iconic The Last of Us video game, which was recently adapted into an acclaimed TV show by HBO. He expressed relief at not moving forward with the project, citing that The Last of Us provided more extensive storytelling opportunities. The original World War Z, released in 2013, starred Brad Pitt and is based on Max Brooks' novel. It follows the character Gerry Lane, a former UN employee, as he travels the globe to find a cure for a global zombie outbreak. Despite a successful box office run, the sequel faced challenges, including director changes and budgetary issues, leading to its eventual cancellation. Fincher clarified that while the sequel would not closely adapt the original book, there were discussions about aligning it more with the source material.

Kochi City Police Initiates First-Ever Case of Cinema Review Manipulation Following Director's Complaint

The Kochi City Police have launched an unprecedented investigation into a case of cinema review manipulation. The case was registered in response to a complaint filed by Ubaini, the director of Rahel Makan Kora, who alleged deliberate efforts were made to disparage his film on social media. This legal action comes after the Kerala High Court instructed the State Police Chief to take action against vloggers who engage in calculated and biased reviews aimed at coercing and blackmailing   filmmakers. The directive was issued by Justice Devan Ramachandran, who was addressing a plea submitted by Mubeen Rauf, the director of Aromalinte Adyathe Pranayam. Rauf's petition highlighted the detrimental effects of vloggers' "unscrupulous practices” on the film industry and urged authorities to take measures against them.
