The actor has sent across the message all the way from Kashmir where he is shooting for the Rajkumar Periasamy film

As India rings its 76th Independence Day today, the nation has been celebrating it with fervour. In the meantime, actor Sivakarthikeyan has a special message for his fans all the way from Kashmir where he is currently shooting for his upcoming film, which is tentatively referred to as SK 21.
In the video, Sivakarthikeyan says, "As we hoist the flag today, let's remember those who laid down their lives for our freedom after 200 years. At the same time, let's also salute the Indian Army, which has been guarding the nation day and night, in the sun and snow and from the Himalayas to Kanyakumari."
After the video, speculations have been rife that the actor is playing an Army man in the film. His constant appearance with a cap on his head has further added fuel to the fire. The actor has also put on some weight for his character and his new look had recently gone viral on social media.
The film has Sivakarthikeyan teaming up with Sai Pallavi for the first time. Touted to be a big-budget entertainer, SK 21 is directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's production house, Raaj Kamal Films International. This is the first time that Sivakarthikeyan is working for a film produced by Kamal Haasan.
Sivakarthikeyan had recently taken a break from the schedule for the promotions of his recent outing Maaveeran . The film, helmed by National Award-winning filmmaker Madonne Ashwin had Sivakarthikeyan playing a timid cartoonist, whose sketches come alive in real life in the form of a super hero.
Vijay Sethupathi has lent his voice for the super hero character, called Maaveeran. This is the first time that Vijay Sethupathi and Sivakarthikeyan are coming together for a film. The star cast includes Aditi Shankar, Mysskin, Sunil, Saritha and Monisha Blessy to name a few. Maaveeran is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
