RRR is still continuing its stellar performance at the box office a week after its release. Box office collections are not the only thing the film is garnering, as the Jr NTR, Ram Charan-led film has also been on the receding end of widespread praise for its story, visuals, performances, and of course, SS Rajamouli’s direction. The prominent director recently opened up about his next project, which will star Mahesh Babu in the lead.
In conversation with Variety, Rajamouli said that he had been working on his next project’s storyline during the time RRR had been met with postponements due to the pandemic. As he didn't have anything to do during that time, the director had chosen to work on the story of his next project.
“Usually I will take about six to seven months from this point to get the storyline ready, get some of the pre-visualization and pre-production ready for the shoot,” he added. Rajamouli is aiming to get his next film on floors by the end of the year, after taking a break to bask in the success of RRR and get some well-earned rest.
Rajamouli had earlier quashed rumours that his upcoming film would be a multi-starrer as well, like Baahubali and RRR.
Babu had been one of the many celebrities who lauded RRR. The actor praised the film for its visuals, grandeur, emotions and music.
Meanwhile, Babu is currently awaiting the release of his film , Sarkaru Vaari Paata, helmed by Parasuram. The film will see him share the screen with Keerthy Suresh, marking the duo’s first onscreen collaboration and will be released in theatres on May 12.
