The cinema industry including its fans witnessed a heated debate on Twitter with Ajay Devgn and Kichcha Sudeepa exchanging words over the South and North industry and language. Suniel Shetty is the latest star to share his opinion on the subject.

“I think this scene has been created on social media. We are Indians. I think with the coming of the OTT platform, everyone has realised that language doesn’t matter. It is the content that matters.” the actor told as reported by Times of India.

He added that he comes from the South but works in Mumbai but the fact is that the audience decides which films to watch. “My only problem is only that we have probably forgotten the audience somewhere down the line,” he added.

The actor also said that it is content we need to work on and that Bollywood will remain Bollywood. Calling it a question of time, Shetty added that it is time to reconsider and produce better content. He reaffirmed that content is king whether it is South, North, East or West.

The debate took centrestage after Kichcha Sudeepa took to Twitter following the immense box office success of South Indian movies such as RRR, KGF: Chapter 2 and Pushpa: The Rise. A number of big names from the industry such as Ram Gopal Varma and Ranveer Singh.

Suniel Shetty was last seen in two movies from the South. Marakkar: King of the Arabian Sea (Amazon Prime Video) starring Mohanlal and directed by Priyadarshan came out in 2021 and the sports drama Ghani (aha) starring Varun Tej hit theatres earlier this year.
