India is all set to face arch-rivals Pakistan in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 opener at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on October 23 on Sunday.

While fans eagerly await the high-octane match, the chances of the game not being played a lot was the topic of discussion due to rain.

According to weather reports, it was told that there could not be a game played on Sunday as there is a chance of rain.

It has been raining in and around Melbourne for the past few days and according to Melbourne Weather Forecast, the weather on the day of the game did not look good either.

However, it now appears that the rain gods have shown some mercy to cricket fans as the weather has improved in Melbourne.

Since Saturday morning, the weather has seen a drastic improvement with no rain during the course of the day. However, the cloud cover is still at 100% which could translate to the weather being cloudy throughout the game period with wind gusts expected to pick up over 30 km/h.

While the game match may not be affected in the initial hours, the effect may be seen towards the later half of the clash.

It will now remain to see if the weather will improve or worsen during the anticipated encounter between the Asian heavyweights.
