Anurag Kashyap’s thriller Dobaaraa is all set to hit theatres on August 19. On Thursday, Taapsee Pannu, Pavail Gulati, and Ektaa R Kapoor visited Kolkata and met media representatives at a press conference. Later in the evening, Prosenjit Chatterjee hosted a special screening of the film. He also invited a couple of his industry friends to the screening.

At the press conference, Taapsee, Pavail and Ektaa talked about their views on the film. Taapsee shared her experience of getting to know about the topic. Meanwhile, Pavail emphasised his work experience with Taapsee for the second time after Thappad. On the other hand, producer Ektaa also talked about why she chose this topic and how she got on to this project.

While talking about Bollywood, Taapsee said, “I am proud to be an outsider in Bollywood. That’s why the name of my production house is Outsiders Films. You get a better view from the outside.”

The actress has recently visited Kolkata while promoting Srijit Mukherji’s Shabaash Mithu. The sports drama is based on the life of legendary cricketer Mithali Raj, who also attended the press conference along with the director and Taapsee. While the film failed to impress the box office numbers, Shabaash Mithu became number 1 on Netflix India after its online release. While sharing the screenshot, Taapsee wrote on her social media that she wished the audience would show love while the film was in theatres. She also thanked her audience.

Meanwhile, Dobaaraa will see a theatrical release after it travelled across the globe attending festivals. The film was screened at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Fantasia International Film Festival, and London Film Festival. The makers presented the film to its audience in multiple cities, including Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi. Now the film will be screened in Kolkata.
