Taapsee Pannu on being called female Akshay Kumar: I will accept that compliment humbly when my pay check matches his

Taapsee Pannu has refused to accept herself as female Akshay Kumar. The actress said that she would humbly accept the compliment but only when her pay check matches the superstar’s. It is to be noted that Akshay is the highest taxpayer in Bollywood currently.

Taapsee spoke to Siddharth Kanan on his show about the comparison being made because she appears in as many films as him. She said, “I will believe and accept that comment or compliment humbly when my pay check matches his.”

Pointing out how Akshay is the highest earning actor and highest tax-payer, Taapsee requested netizens to drop the comparison. She has been a victim of IT raid along with her director Anurag Kashyap. The duo believe that the incident gave them good PR but in reality, they would wonder what valuables do they have hidden.

“Mujhe nahi milte hai. Main door door tak zone mein hi nahi hoon uss wali category ke,” Taapsee told Siddharth Kanan.

Taapsee will soon be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s film, Dobaaraa. The movie is the remake of the Spanish film, Mirage.

Similar to the original plot, Taapsee plays the role of a woman who gets to save the life of a boy from a thunderstorm. The twist? The thunderstorm happened 25 years ago and she is connected to him through a TV set.

Dobaaraa is slated to release in theatres on August 19. The OTT release date and platform for the film are yet to be decided.

Interestingly, Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan will also be releasing in theatres on August 15. The movie will start streaming on Zee5 post its theatrical release.
