The members of Active Telugu Film Producers Guild a.k.a ATFPG are coming together for a meeting today to resolve all issues surrounding the box office clash for Sankranti 2022 in Telugu cinema among RRR, Radhe Shyam, Bheemla Nayak (and possibly Bangarraju). The group is trying to arrive at an amiable solution debating on the possibilities of postponing the releases of a few movies to ensure that no producer or distributor is on the losing end and for every movie to get its due. The meeting is crucial given two of the four Sankranti releases - RRR and Radhe Shyam - are made at a budget more than Rs 200 crore.

The ideal solution would be for Pawan Kalyan's Bheemla Nayak to postpone its release to a later date in January (possibly January 26) to avoid a clash, but the producers Sithara Entertainments are in no mood to budge and have already booked theatres confirming the film's release on January 12. This means that RRR will have a good run in theatres only for five days in Telugu states and need to counter competition from the other big releases starting with Bheemla Nayak. Bangarraju's entry into the Sankranti race is dependent on the decision taken at the meeting, based on the move of Bheemla Nayak's producers.

There aren't any changes expected in the release dates of RRR and Radhe Shyam though. Anyway, the final decision about the Sankranti releases will be out in a few hours. Huge stakes and names are involved in at least three of the four films which are confirmed for the Sankranti slot. Meanwhile, RRR is not going to have it easy in the Tamil industry either, having to clash with Ajith's actioner Valimai, directed by H Vinoth and Suriya's Etharkum Thuninthavan, produced by Sun Pictures.
