Thalaivar 170: Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan leave fans thrilled again with a picture. Details inside

It was only a few days ago that Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan shared mutual admiration towards each other from their Twitter pages, leaving their fans overwhelmed. The legends met at the location of Thalaivar 170 (tentative title) which is being helmed by TJ Gnanavel.

Lyca Productions is bankrolling the project which is said to be based on a real-life incident. There were reports that Rajinikanth is playing the role of a cop who takes up a social cause. Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati and Fahadh Faasil among others essay key roles in the film.

The makers have now left everyone surprised with another picture featuring the duo. It looks like their new still is from the shooting spot in Mumbai. Amitabh, who is seen dressed in a blazer, is sitting on a chair looking at a mobile phone.

Rajini, who is attired in a casual shirt and pants, is spotted beside him with a smile on his face. Needless to say, the picture is going viral on social media. As if this unexpected update isn't enough, the team has also announced that the Mumbai schedule has been wrapped up.

Thalaivar 170 to be released in 2024

The project is expected to hit the screens later next year. Rajinikanth will next be seen in Lal Salaam which has been helmed by his daughter Aishwarya. The movie which marks her return to direction after a hiatus has the Superstar playing a cameo after one-and-a-half decade.

Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth will be seen essaying lead roles in the movie which has music composed by AR Rahman. Lal Salaam is hitting the screens as a Pongal release in January.
