Book of Boba Fett to Premiere in December on Disney Plus

Book of Boba Fett, the Mandalorian spinoff is set to premiere on Disney Plus on December 29. The series will focus on the bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand while they explore the Galaxy’s underworld on their return to the sands of Tatooine. Their ultimate motive this time will be to claim their territory whose reigns once belonged to Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

Apple gets rights to Jon Watts Thriller Starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt

Apple Original Films has bagged the Jon Watts thriller that it was bidding for, against streaming A-listers like Sony, Netflix and Lionsgate. The yet-untitled thriller will feature George Clooney and Brad Pitt as two lone wolves assigned to the same job.

Olivia Colman, Rowan Atkinson and Sally Hawkins board Timothée Chalamet’s ‘Wonka’

Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman and Sally Hawkins have confirmed their association with Wonka, an origin story of the eccentric chocolatier character created by Roald Dahl. Timothée Chalamet plays Willy Wonka in this Paul King directorial. While their specific roles are yet to be revealed, Wonka’s cast is definitely shaping up to be one of the most coveted arrays of talents onboard a film in recent years.

Boney Kapoor

Boney Kapoor has confirmed he’s collaborating with Tamil superstar Ajith and filmmaker H Vinoth for a third time for a new film tentatively titled Thala 61. As per reports, the movie will have a heist setting with Ajith portraying an anti-hero. Further, the makers are targeting next year's Diwali weekend for its release.

Kapoor’s association with Ajith and Vinoth began with Nerkonda Paarvai, the official Tamil remake of Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu-starrer Pink. Their second project together, Valimai, is scheduled to hit the theatres on Pongal 2022.

Prabhudeva

Prabhudeva is all set to appear in front of the camera with his next film, which he has already begun shooting for in Chennai. Debutant filmmaker Sam Rodrigues will helm the action flick, which will see Prabhu Deva play the role of a police officer.

Rodrigues revealed the film is inspired by true events and follows the life of an IPS officer. Other cast members include Bigg Boss Tamil contestant Shariq, Malayalam actors Binu Pappu and Leona Lishoy.

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar has reportedly joined hands with Emraan Hashmi to remake Prithviraj and Suraj’s Malayalam movie Driving License in Hindi. The same report suggests Kumar will take on the role essayed by Prithviraj and Hashmi will play Suraj’s role. The Hindi adaptation will be bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Good Newz director Raj Mehta has been roped in as director of the film.

The original film was about a superstar who loses his license and tries to get his hands on one illegally. However, things go south when he clashes with a cop, who is also his die-hard fan.

Radhe Shyam

The makers of Prabhas and Pooja Hedge’s bilingual period romantic drama Radhe Shyam have confirmed that the movie will release on 14 January next year, during the Pongal weekend. The film is reportedly set in the 1970s. Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, the film will have a global theatrical release in Hindi and Telugu.
