The date is set! Payal Rohatgi and Sangram Singh to get married on July 9 – all you need to know about their grand wedding

Payal Rohatgi and Sangram Singh are finally tying the knot. Official details of their wedding are out now. They will get married on July 9 this year.

Sangram confirmed to ETimes that the couple will have a destination wedding in Agra. The destination was locked in because it would convenient for the family to travel there.

The wrestler-actor also revealed that the couple was planning to get married in either Rajasthan or Payal’s hometown Ahmedabad previously. However, they have finally finalized on Agra, since his family members will also have to travel only four hours from Haryana.

Sangram had announced on social media that he would get married to Payal in July, on his birthday. The wrestler celebrates his birthday on July 21.

The announcement came soon after Payal broke down on Kangana Ranaut’s show Lock Upp. When Kaaranvir Bohra had dragged Sangram’s name into a fight with Payal, she broke down to Babita Phogat and said that she has not been able to get married to Sangram for 12 long years, even though they are engaged. She had revealed back then that his family members had some issues with her.

Later on the show, Payal had revealed that her not being able to conceive was a major concern among the families. She had urged every woman to store their eggs in their prime years, so they do not have to face a situation like hers.

Some time after the incident, Sangram entered Lock Upp himself and assured Payal that their wedding is on and that he doesn’t want to lose her in life. Payal asked Sangram if he is sure about his decision and the wrestler replied in an affirmative.

Sangram met Payal on the sets of the reality show, Survivor India (2012). He then participated in Bigg Boss 7 in 2013, a show that Payal was already a part of in 2008. She had faced a lot of backlash on the show and post it but luckily, years later, Payal and Sangram were engaged.

Sangram revealed an interesting incident – that they met even before Survivor India but it was a chance meeting. He recalled that Payal’s car broke down and he just came back from a wrestling match and was with his friends but still, gave her a lift. The wrestler-actor said that the two exchanged numbers then but never called each other till they actually met on the reality show.
