The Kashmir Files is shattering all records in just a month of its release. During the pandemic, the movie became the first Hindi movie to gross more than Rs 250 crore. The Kashmir Files is a film based on the mass migration of Kashmiri Hindus in 1990. It was released in theatres on March 11. Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pallavi Joshi feature in the film.
The Kashmir Files tells a heartbreaking story about Kashmiri pandits' anguish, suffering, struggle, and trauma, and revolves around democracy, religion, politics, and humanity.
According to trade expert Taran Adarsh, The Kashmir Files has surpassed the Rs 250 crores, making it the first Hindi film to do it during the pandemic.
His tweet was as follows: "The first #Hindi film to reach 250 crores [post-pandemic] is #TheKashmirFiles... Despite fewer presentations and screens, the absence of big films this weekend helped the business expand on [fifth] Sat and Sun... [Week Five] 50 lacs on Friday, 85 lacs on Saturday, and 1.15 crore on Sunday. #India business (sic) total: 250.73 crores"
The film has been heaping praises ever since its release. Several celebrities like Akshay Kumar have appreciated the film and urged cinemagoers to catch a show. The Indian Prime Minister too congratulated the team for the film. Many state governments had also declared a full day or half day leaves to its employees so that they can watch the film.
Despite facing tough competition from Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR, which also released in Hindi and stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles, the film The Kashmir Files is making a steady progress at the box office.
