Since his debut with Phool Aur Kaante in 1991, Ajay Devgn has appeared in over a hundred Hindi films. His successful career has rolled on across the decades, unstinted, with acclaimed performances in Zakhm, Company, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. But his credentials as a leading Hindi film hero was built on an array of action films, including Jigar, Sangram and Diljale, spread out across the 1990s. Devgn bagged his first Filmfare award in the Best Actor Critics category for Company in 2002, initiating a spree of award-winning performances, leading to The Legend of Bhagat Singh, that fetched him his second National Award for Best Actor. In 2006, he essayed Othello in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara, drawing praise. Devgn appeared in several notable films throughout the 2010s, ranging from Milan Luthria’s Once Upon a Time in Mumbai to Aakrosh, Singham and Drishyam. He was most recently seen in the 2021 film Bhuj: The Pride of India, starring alongside Sanjay Dutt, Nora Fatehi, Sonakshi Sinha. Devgn has also established a visual effects company, NY VFXWAALA, that has worked on multiple films including Bajirao Mastani, Dilwale and Shivaay.
