'This will be our 11th blockbuster': Ajay Devgn on hearing the narration for Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty and actor Ajay Devgn have begun preparing for the third installment in the "Singham" franchise. Ajay shared an announcement on his Instagram. Also shared a picture of him and Rohit.

“Made a good start to the New Year with @itsrohitshetty’s narration of Singham Again. The script I heard is fire. God willing this will be our 11th blockbuster”, read Ajay Devgn’s caption. The director commented on Ajay Devgn’s post, “Ab tak Imaandaari aur Mehnat ke saath kaam kiya hai… is baar andar Aag bhi hai”.

Deepika Padukone would also appear in the sequel, filmmaker Rohit stated during the promotion of his most recent film, Cirkus. She will be beating the bad guys in a cop avatar, he confirmed. However, Rohit Shetty's Cirkus failed to make money at the box office, the film features Ranveer Singh in the lead role.

2011 saw the release of Singham.  It is the first chapter of Rohit's "Cop Universe." The movie, a remake of the 2010 Tamil film with the same name by Hari, stars Ajay in the lead as Bajirao Singham, a police officer, along with Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj, who reprises his character from the original.

After the movie's success, the actor-director team worked together on the 2014 sequel, Singham Returns.

Meanwhile, Aajay Devgn was last seen in Drishyam 2. The film was a box office success and made more than 200 crore at the box office. The film also starred Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran, among others. Drishyam 2 is an official remake of Mohanlal's hit film of the same name. 

On the work front, Ajay Devgn will also be seen in Bholaa, which is also a remake. The film is the official Hindi adaptation of the Tamil hit Kaithi, which featured Karthi in the lead. The teaser of the film is already out and has been garnering appretiation.
