There's news for Ajith fans. The latest we hear is that the shoot for his upcoming action entertainer, Thunivu. which was shot in Bangkok, Thailand, has been wrapped up. The Bangkok schedule is said to be the final one for the film, and this means that the entire portions have been wrapped up. The film marks the third collaboration between director H Vinoth, producer Boney Kapoor and Ajith. They had earlier teamed up for Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai.
Thunivu has Malayalam actress Manju Warrier playing the leading lady. The film, which is billed as a heist thriller, also has as part of the star cast, Samuthirakani, Veera, John Kokken and Ajay. Music for the film is by Ghibran, cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Velukutty. The plot is said to be based on a real-life incident that happened in Punjab, which involved a bank heist. However, there has been no official confirmation despite social media buzzing with the rumours.
This is the first time that Ajith and Manju Warrier have teamed up for a film. Manju made her Tamil debut with Vetri Maaran's critically acclaimed Asuran, in which she collaborated with Dhanush. Manju had also joined Ajith on his recent bike tour to Ladakh and had later flown down to Bangkok for the final schedule. The former Bigg Boss contestants recently met Thala on the set of the film and also shared pictures from their meeting, which went viral on the internet.
In the meantime, speculations are rife that now that the shoot for Thunivu is completed, the film might release on Pongal. Interestingly, Vijay's Varisu helmed by Vamshi Paidipally, is also lined up for release on the same occasion. If both films release for, it will be a box office dhamaka of sorts as Ajith-Vijay releases haven't clashed in a while.
