The hugely-popular Season 1 of Loki came to an end on Wednesday, as it concluded its six-episode run, leaving fans with a bittersweet feeling. While on one hand, it prepared the stage for multiversal events in MCU, it also marked the finishing line for our favourite character Loki.
Now in an exciting twist of events, Loki is back with a second instalment of mischief and some glorious purpose. However, in typical Marvel style, this news was not conveyed in a conventional manner, rather a Loki flavour was added to it. In the mid-credit scene from the season finale on Wednesday, it was formally announced that the Tom Hiddleston-starrer would be back for a second season. No additional details were provided in the title card, apart from the news.
Loki S1 ended on a cliffhanger with the entrance of the dreaded Emperor Kang, and exposing the timeline to a multiverse. This has set the stage for Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, where Hiddleston’s Loki as well as Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda are expected to return. It seems like the merging of multiple timelines will also assist MCU in introducing many characters that were in other franchises, as people from other timelines, like case in point: the rumour that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, along with former key villains played by Jamie Foxx (Electro) and Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus), will appear in Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home.
How Marvel Studios handles this ever-expanding and complicated MCU will be something worth a watch and definitely a treat to fans
