The romantic drama is due for an October 14 theatrical release.
Darling Krishna’s first film with director Nagshekar, which pairs him with Bhavana, email@example.com is getting a festive release on October 14. In the run-up to the big day, the team is set to give audiences a sneak peek into what the film is all about on October 2 with the trailer launch. So far, Nagshekar has been very tight-lipped about the slice-of-life film; even the songs he has released did not throw much light on what we can expect.
However, in an earlier interaction with Times of India, the filmmaker was quoted as saying that the film has a mature subject that touches upon topics like live-in relationships and extramarital affairs in a sensitive yet funny manner. Nagshekar had said that firstname.lastname@example.org is very different from his earlier films, and that the story is contemporary and tailored for today’s audiences. Krishna has been quoted as saying that his character in the film is a fun-loving flirtatious guy who lives life as per his rules. The Jassi Gift musical also has a cameo by actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty and Dattanna in a pivotal role. Krishna and Bhavana essay the roles of a steward and a lawyer, respectively, in the film, which was shot across locations in Mysuru, Bengaluru and Shivamogga. Interestingly, although Nagshekar’s professional relationship with Krishna began with this film, it continued with him remaking the actor’s directorial debut, Love Mocktail, in Telugu. Now that Love Mocktail 2 is also gearing up for release, it would be interesting to see if Nagshekar will remake that too.
Meanwhile, email@example.com is releasing as a Kannada-Malayalam bilingual, and will hit theatres along with big-ticket movies Kotigobba 3 and Salaga. Considering that all three films belong to very different genres, the team of Krishna’s film is hopeful that it will find its own audience over the festive season. Produced by Sandesh Productions, the film is being distributed by Jayanna Films.
